On Tuesday March 20, 2018, Barran's Bears Founders were awarded the 2018 Beyond the Badge "Service Before Self" Award in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Honorable guests included Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Lt. General Honore.
