Dealing with the challenges of how children perceive Law Enforcement today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Barrans Bears Inc. emerged from a pursuit to help kids see that Police and First Responders are friends; a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 2016, we’re an organization driven by fresh ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. Our Ambassadors are some of the finest Police Men and Women, Firefighters and Medics you will find!

Barrans Bears started with a small box, placed lovingly at Fleet Tire in Metairie Louisiana  by Mr.Frank Labarre. Mr. Labarre gave Barrans Bears a chance, offering his humble shop as a place for people to donate new and gently used teddy bears…and then…Barrans Bears grew, and grew, and grew. Barrans Bears Founder, Deputy Turner Barran was able to provide his squad with teddy bears for their patrol vehicles. Within a few months, the entire Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office was equipped with teddy bears. In just a few more short months, a total of 12 Police Departments were being provided with Teddy Bears to help the children they came across at scenes of Domestic Violence, Car accidents, House Fires, Crime Scenes, and other traumatic events.

The growing hasn’t stopped! Barrans Bears has been featured on WGNO News, WWL News, and Media Outlets in Sarasota Florida.

Mr. Labarre allowed a box to sit in his shop…a small step, that led to big changes.
