WELCOME TO BARRAN'S BEARS INC.
Barran's Bears is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that provides Teddy Bears to Police Officers and First Responders to utilize at scenes where children are faced with "adult problems" such as Domestic Violence, illness, injury etc. Founder Deputy Turner Barran carried teddy bears in his patrol unit before creating this organization and observed the difference that it made on calls where children were dealing with a traumatic situation. Psychologically, teddy bears and stuffed animals have a very calming effect on children and Deputy Barran observed that children were more eager to see police as friends when they were comforted by a teddy bear. Barran's Bears was born from a tiny idea, and has now reached over 65 departments nation wide!

Here at Barrans Bears Inc., we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place by bringing children, Law Enforcement and First Responders closer together. It is our dream and our mission to help children realize that they have trusted friends that can truly assist them in times of need.
Scarlett's "Blankets and Bears Program"
HELPING FIND COMFORT
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the challenges of mothers and children who are placed into Battered Women's Shelters. Imagine either running from your home by choice, or being forced out in the middle of the night. You may only be able to take a few items with you.
Scarlett Barran came up with an idea…and we ran with it. Scarlett proposed that we provide blankets, so that "mommies can stay warm" and teddy bears, so "kids can feel safer" while having to stay at the shelters. True compassion for strangers and the desire to make a difference is what helped Scarlett start the "Blankets and Bears" program!
